经过一星期的坚持，我终于读完了《老人与海》这本外国名着。这本书给我留下了深刻印象，使我无法忘记它。这本小说主要写了一位老人独自在海上打鱼。他钓到了一条大鱼，把鱼头和上半身绑在小船边上。但是他遇上了鲨鱼，老人使出了浑身解数和鲨鱼搏斗，鲨鱼把能吃到的鱼肉都吃了却还有800磅左右。

看了这本书，我的心久久不能平静，这位普通而又可敬的老人使我深深的懂得了：“做人不应该被任何困难所压服，应该尽自己最大的努力与生活中的磨难做不屈不挠的斗争。

桑提阿果爷爷的硬骨头精神实在令我佩服。每当我读到爷爷与鲨鱼进行激烈的搏斗时，我的心情不知是要紧张还是要为爷爷担心，可是爷爷，总是保持着乐观的精神去面对一些极大的困难。看到这里，我不由得想起了自己，每当我遇到了一些困难时，总是觉得很不顺心，觉得很烦，很想逃避现实。再看看人家桑提阿果爷爷，不管遇到任何困难也毫不退缩，而是勇敢地去面对!

做人也应该这样，不要一副贪生怕死的样子，要对自己有信心。即使我们遇到重重困难，也绝不应该让它给打倒，应该勇敢地去消灭它。

我相信，在我的努力下，我一定会变得像桑提阿果爷爷那样勇敢，那样勇于拼搏。
